Wanna see your art on the back cover of BLITZ?
We’re opening up the canvas to you! With every issue, we’re hosting a submission contest where one lucky artist will have their work featured on the back cover * of BLITZ.
The rules are simple:
- Showcase your favourite indie comics character.
- Put them face-to-face (or side-by-side) with one (or more) of the cast of characters pictured below — the monstrous KLAATU, mischief-maker spawned from our beastly RAID Anthologies, BARADA the graffiti hurling bombastic robot gorilla, or NIKTO, or tip of the hat to the Japanese Kyodai Hero genre — there’s also GORT, our Godzilla fiend — all in all, have some fun!
Get weird, get wild, and show us your best. The winning piece will be immortalized on the back cover, with full credit inside the issue!
SUBMISSION DEADLINES AND DETAILS
SUBMISSION DETAIL:
- Image Dimensions: 10 x 13 inches (254 x 330.2 mm), with a 0.125 inch (4 mm) bleed around the entire image.
- Image Resolution: 300 DPI Minimum
- Image Colour Format: CMYK
- Finished File Saved in TIFF format – submitted files saved and emailed in JPG format.

BACK COVER BLITZ / Contest Terms & Details
Compensation
BACK COVER BLITZ is a non-compensated contest. Winners are selected by the BLITZ editorial team and will have their artwork featured on the back cover of a published issue of BLITZ Magazine. No financial payment will be provided.
Credit
Full creator credit will appear in the issue, along with any relevant social media handles, portfolio links, or contact information provided by the artist.
Complimentary Copies
Winners will receive three (3) complimentary copies of the printed issue in which their work appears.
Rights & Ownership
- Artists retain full copyright and ownership of their submitted work.
- By entering, artists grant RAID Press:
- Exclusive print and digital use of the artwork for the specific issue of BLITZ in which it appears.
- A non-exclusive, indefinite license to reprint the artwork in future BLITZ-related collections (including anthologies, reprints, “best of” editions, and digital versions).
- Permission to use the artwork for marketing and promotional purposes related to BLITZ Magazine and RAID Press, with credit always given to the creator.
- The artwork will not be altered beyond standard production needs (e.g., formatting, resizing, color correction).
Eligibility & Content Guidelines
- No nudity, hate imagery, or offensive content will be accepted.
- Open to all artists, worldwide.
- Submissions must be original work.
- Artwork must not include mainstream characters or properties, and please champion your own creations!
ISSUE 1 WINNER:
* Fine Print: BLITZ reserves the right to reposition the winning artwork elsewhere in the magazine if necessary, including in cases where the back cover is pre-allocated for special activations, collaborations, or other unique editorial needs.
